英国移动网络运营商 O2 旗下的 GiffGaff 卡长久以来受海外旅居人士推崇，可以使用较低成本长期持有归属英国号码，许多用户购买 GiffGaff 卡后并未使用蜂窝流量漫游服务，而是侧重于“充值保号”。
不过根据蓝点网报道，GiffGaff 今天下午向大量用户发送封号清退邮件，相应邮件中声称 GiffGaff 主要面向英国境内的用户提供服务，而漫游服务仅适用于短期旅行。长期在英国境外漫游使用违反服务条款，因此相关卡号被终止服务，不过邮件并未说明用户账户余额如何处理。
GiffGaff 在邮件通知中的说明如下：
Hi Robert,
We need to make you aware that, following a review of your account usage, we have made the decision to disconnect your service (mobile number ending 7502). In line with our terms and conditions, our services are intended primarily for use within the UK, with roaming provided for short-term travel only. As your usage pattern suggests extended or permanent use outside the UK, your account no longer meets the eligibility requirements for the service. As a result, your service will be disconnected shortly, and any associated access will cease.
Please note this is our final position on this matter.
We appreciate your understanding and thank you for your previous custom.
